About Mark.

Mark has unique experience in building strategic information for public and corporate clients in New Zealand and across the world, his narrative development skills shaped in demanding engagements where good explanations are critical and outcomes matter.

He has been variously described as writer, content strategist, information designer and visionaire.  He’s a graduate of the University of Canterbury with a degree in law and subsequent on-the-job training in information, technology and communications.

Mark brings a reputation for intelligent listening, guided collaboration and information innovation. He has taken lead information design responsibilities in significant and complex telco, finance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, defence and government engagements across Australasia, Asia Pacific, USA and Europe.

His skills have helped explain new national mobile offerings, future automotive technologies, human rights in international supply chains and banking strategies.  His work has been regarded as pivotal by global boards, industry executive, organisation staff and government leadership.

Today he’s increasingly seeing the need to respond to a new world, demanding new metrics.

Now, more than ever, well articulated intentions, transparency and accountability matter.

“In my mind, the Storyshed concept has two very different sequential elements. First, taking stakeholder perspectives, objectives, aspirations and constraints into a single place. An opportunity then becomes a reality, the chance to discuss, reprioritise, agree, modify, improve and enhance; the acceleration of the original ideas, with agility. The end result – transparency and agreement. Nothing sweeter than that.”
